Groveley Precision Engineering: Great response at Farnborough

Back from Farnborough, we’re following up an excellent mix of enquiries from potential new customers, suppliers and recruits.

We were showing our capabilities in suppling precision-engineered components for the aerospace industry… using 3D modelling/machining for turning, milling, and finishing an extensive array of metals, plastics and friction materials.

At the close of the Farnborough International Airshow 5-day trade exhibition, organisers confirmed that the show had recorded orders and options to the value of US$123.9 billion, defying industry expectations.

Despite adverse weather drawing business to an early close on Monday, the trade show halls remained busy throughout the week. Visitor numbers from Monday to Thursday averaged at 20,000 per day.

Star of the show on the final day was Tim Peake, who opened proceeding in his first public appearance since returning from the ISS four weeks ago.

The official main opening saw both Prime Minister David Cameron and Richard Branson welcoming senior aerospace executives, military officials and international government representatives at the official opening ceremony – with a fly past by the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter flanked by the Red Arrows.
